OPTOWL FL-BC-9M Series High-Resolution Machine Vision Lenses for 1" and 1.1" Sensors – 3.45 µm

The OPTOWL high-resolution lens series, originally developed by RICOH, is designed for industrial machine vision cameras with large1" and 1.1" sensors and a pixel size down to 3.45 µm.

The lenses support cameras up to 9 megapixels with 1" sensors and12 megapixels with 1.1" sensors, delivering resolution up to147 lp/mm from the image centre to the corners. This makes the series especially suitable for demanding inspection,measurement and positioning applications where consistent image quality across the complete sensor is required.

Available focal lengths are 12 mm, 16 mm, 25 mm, 35 mm, 50 mm and 75 mm.

High resolution across the complete image

The optical design provides high contrast and sharp image reproduction with minimal resolution loss towards the edges of the sensor.With support for a 3.45 µm pixel pitch, these lenses are well matched to high-resolution industrial cameras,including cameras based on sensors such as the Sony IMX253.

Low distortion for measurement applications

Extremely low optical distortion makes the series particularly suitable formachine vision measurement, dimensional inspection, positioning and precision inspection applications.

The floating focusing mechanism helps reduce optical aberrations over a wide working-distance range,from close working distances through to applications requiring longer viewing distances.

Compact industrial design

Despite supporting large-format sensors, the lenses feature a compact Ø42 mm housing,making them suitable for integration with industrial cameras using approximately 44 mm camera housings.

Vignetting is kept to a minimum, providing bright and uniform images from the centre to the edges of the sensor.

Focus and iris settings can be mechanically secured using locking screws,preventing unintended adjustment caused by vibration or handling in industrial environments.
