On-Site 2D Machine Vision Hardware Selection Training

On-Site 2D Machine Vision Hardware Selection Training

During this one-day practical training, engineers learn how to select the right hardware for a 2D machine vision application.

The training is intended for companies that have already selected their vision software or develop their own, such as AI startups, OEMs and machine builders. The focus is on creating a stable and reliable image as the basis for further software development.

What will we cover?

We start from the application and determine which image quality and hardware are required for a reliable 2D machine vision solution.

  • Application requirements, Field of View and required resolution

  • Camera selection: sensor, resolution, pixel size, frame rate and shutter type

  • Motion blur and exposure time

  • Lens selection: focal length, working distance, sensor size and depth of field

  • Selection and positioning of machine vision lighting

  • Contrast, reflections and material surface properties

  • Use of polarization, bandpass and other optical filters

  • Influence of ambient light

  • Practical combination of camera, lens, lighting and filters

Project approach

In addition to hardware selection, we cover how to approach a machine vision project in a structured and technically sound way.

  • From application requirements to technical specifications

  • Defining inspection and acceptance criteria

  • Using representative product samples

  • Identifying technical risks

  • Determining which components and aspects should be tested in advance

  • When a feasibility test is required

  • From initial concept to a reproducible production setup

Good to know

This training focuses on the hardware and optical side of 2D machine vision.

Software development, vision programming, AI model training and PLC programming are not part of this training.

The aim is to enable your engineers to better determine which camera, lens, lighting and optical components are required to achieve a stable and reliable image for their vision software.

Do it yourself. But not alone.
